SEARCH Team

Welcome back! Now that you have attended at least one SEARCH retreat weekend, you are invited to serve on the weekend as a team member. We could not have weekend without you! Seriously! We are blessed to have you in this community.

A few reminders …

• Team fee is $70 per weekend.
• You must be able to commit to being there for the entire weekend.
• Team must be at Maryvale by 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. We have fellowship and quiet time to bond and prepare us.
• Fees are due before the weekend. After you get an acceptance email, make your payment on the “Team Member Payment” page.
• Scholarships are available based on need.
• If you are 18 or older, you must complete the Safe Environment training

November 3-6, 2022

Safe Environment Training

If you are 18 or older and want to serve as Team on a SEARCH, the Diocese of Fargo requires a few things done prior to being allowed to attend. Both the 1) Background Check and 2) Code of Conduct must be completed 2 weeks prior to serving on a weekend.  You can download and print both documents and return them or email them as a pdf (no cell phone pictures of them) to Jim and Dori Picard.  Their address can be found here. 

1. A Background Check: To serve on a SEARCH weekend, all 18+ individuals must go through a background check.  Dori will submit your name and email provided to the diocesan HR Director.  From there, you will receive a time sensative email that needs to be filled out before attending a weekend.  Please fill it out as soon as you can.

If you would like a hard copy of the Authorization Form, download, complete, and send in the Authorization for Background Check form to Jim and Dori Picard as soon as possible so the background check will have time to process.

• If you already have completed this within the last 5 years within the Diocese of Fargo, SEARCH needs a copy of it. Please have this e-mailed (contact the parish you did it with and they will email it to SEARCH) to Jim and Dori.

2. Read the Code of Conduct: This is a one-time requirement of the diocese (unless something changes in it, then you will be notified you have to read it again).  Please print out, sign, and return the last page that states you have read the Code of Conduct. SEARCH only needs the signature page (the last page) returned.

Both the 1) Background Check and 2) Code of Conduct must be completed 2 weeks prior to serving on a weekend.  Please print, fill out, and return the two forms to Jim and Dori Picard as soon as you are accepted onto the weekend (no cell phone pictures of the forms)

3. “Circle of Care” Video: This is a one-time requirement by the diocese.  Please visit the Safe Environment page of the diocese, watch the video and then print, sign, and return the acknowledgment form prior to or at the start of the SEARCH weekend.  If you have done this previously, SEARCH needs your verification form.
