Out of concern for those who experienced hurricane damage this fall, fourth graders at Holy Family – St. Mary’s School in Grand Forks put the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy into action. They decided to sell rosaries for $2 each during the month of October. The profit made for rosaries and other cash donations was $1,075.
A check was made payable to Catholic Charities, and it will be directed to the Diocese of Venice in Florida. This donation was distributed to Disaster Rebound Buckets, buckets filled essential cleaning supplies that are most needed for the massive cleanup after the storms. In addition to the cleaning supplies, desperately needed drinking water will be provided to residents.
Nearly 2,000 miles away from the damage, these students reached out to support those in need. That is bridging the gap. Together, we are making a real difference. A special thank you to Rita Meyer for donating many handmade rosaries.
