To every person, family and friends are very important. Daily, the administration, staff and volunteers of St. Gerard's
attend to all the details of maintaining a family and home-like atmosphere for the elderly and children they
"Serve in Jesus' Name."
St. Gerard's Community Nursing Home is a small facility in a rural community. Providing quality nursing care in
this situation requires a great faith in God's providence as the same needs as larger facilities in larger cities have are
magnified in the rural setting by the reality of fewer resources. Daily prayer and hard conscientious work by the Sisters,
staff and volunteers make it work. St. Gerard's makes it possible for people to be cared for in their own local community
by a staff that is largely made up of their own friends and relatives.
With a resident Catholic Chaplain, as well as the weekly services of local Protestant Ministers,
our residents feel God's care for them in a special way every day.
Daily, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and the recitation of the Rosary take place in our Chapel.
In the event of a serious illness our chaplains have always been eager to serve by providing all the spiritual benefits of faith.
The spiritual well-being of our residents is a priority.
St. Gerard's Child Care, which offers it's services in a Christian environment, was opened in August of 1997 because
of a growing need to be present to the "little ones", and in response to the needs of the civic community.
Current trends in the nursing home mission to bring children and the elderly together also influenced the decision to
begin this new apostolate. This service is provided at the lowest possible fees to the mothers and families using it, therefore
material or monetary donations are always gratefully appreciated.
St. Gerard's Community Nursing Home and Child Care
give witness to the worth and value of life, especially through the living together of the very young and the very old.
