REQUIREMENTS FOR POTENTIAL SEMINARIANS
A man aspiring to the priesthood should...

bullet

Practice his faith by attending weekly Mass, go to confession regularly and pray in some way each day.

bullet

Be physically and psychologically healthy.

bullet

Be willing to study, learn, and acquire new knowledge.

bullet

Have a basic understanding of the teachings of the Catholic Church.

bullet

Begin receiving monthly spiritual direction from a priest (ask your parish priest).

bullet

Have a desire to live as a priest and submit to the apostolic authority of the Bishop.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

A man wishing to be a priest should contact the Vocation Director. Following an interview, the applicant will receive or be mailed an application packet, which will include the following:

Confidential Application Form

bullet

Autobiographical Guide

bullet

Reference List Form

bullet

Release of Information Form

bullet

Medical Examination Form

bullet

Criminal Background Check Form

bullet

Code of Conduct Policy Form

Applicants must provide and/or send the following information to the Vocation Office:

bullet

Current Baptismal Certificate of an applicant

bullet

Current Confirmation Certificate of an applicant

bullet

Certificate of Canonical Marriage of parents

bullet

Transcripts of academic records from high school and colleges.
Official transcripts of academic records from high school and college must be sent directly to the Vocation Office from each institution.

Current psychological examination (appointment set up through the Vocation Office).

bullet

Recent photograph
