| Another successful 21st Century after-school
program is PLAYERS IN PROGRESS (PIPs). All of our students
demonstrate basketball maneuvers and ball handling that have
audiences oohing and aahing at halftime during local basketball
games. The smiles on the faces of the parents and grandparents truly
bring indescribable joy to me. What will forever be etched in my
mind is the vision of a father smiling ear-to-ear the entire time as
he watched his sons perform the rocking chair, the star, spinning,
figure 8 pass, and more. He and his wife were among the many people,
including the school principal, standing, clapping, cheering and whooping it
up. Parents are even planning to have an Annual PIPS Banquet in
March! The video at right is a compilation of several of the PIPS performances. Check it out!
