Remember the unborn and their parents…
With the summer months upon us, please consider making a visit to the Visitation Chapel and join in praying for a fostering of the culture of life in our diocese.
 Located at 502 1st Ave. N., Fargo, the Chapel is a sacred space dedicated to prayer for an end to abortion. Mass is offered every Wednesday, at 8 a.m., followed by Eucharistic Adoration at 8:30 a.m., which continues until 3:45 p.m. when Benediction takes place. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is recited at the Hour of Mercy, 3 p.m. Other prayer in the Chapel is intended for private devotion. Persons are needed to pray before the Blessed Sacrament on an hourly basis from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. To sign-up, contact Rachelle at (701) 356-7910 or email rachelle.sauvageau@fargodiocese.org. The Chapel will be closed July 4th.

May 26 (Saturday): Ordination Mass for Transitional Deacons to be celebrated by Bishop Samuel Aquila at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Grand Forks. The faithful are invited to attend this special liturgy.

June 3 (Sunday): St. Anne’s Guest Home, 524 17th St. No., Grand Forks, is sponsoring their Annual Ice Cream, Pie and Cake Social from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Free will offering. Great entertainment. Everyone is welcome, and bring a friend! For more information, call (701) 746-9401.

June 9 (Saturday): St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1606 116th St. S.E., Dazey, will celebrate its 107th consecutive Corpus Christi. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Immediately following Mass will be the outdoor procession of praise and adoration around the perimeter of the church grounds concluding with a final Benediction in the church. The day’s celebration includes dinner and children’s games, plus a softball game for all ages. Hot dogs, ice cream and candy will help to make the day one of visiting and fun. June 16 (Saturday): St. James Basilica is hosting the 7th Annual WalkRun with Christ at Ave Maria Village, 501 19th St. NE, Jamestown, beginning at 8 a.m. with registration. The focus of this event is unity, health and charity. The day includes a variety of races, food, music, games and fellowship. For more information, go to www.walkrunwithchrist.com.

June 16 (Saturday): Sacred Heart in Carrington celebrates 125 years. In honor of the parish's Anniversary, Bishop Samuel Aquila will preside at a 5 p.m. Mass, followed by a program and potluck in the parish hall. All are welcome to attend.

June 17 (Sunday): The celebration of 100 years of faith will be observed at Sts. Peter and Paul parish in McHenry, with the Sunday Eucharist at 10:30 a.m., a meal served at 12 noon, and Centennial artifacts and Christian art pieces available for sale and display. To help with planning, interested persons are to notify Darlis Short at rdshort@mlgc.com, or call (701) 782-2404 (home) or (701) 785-2801 (work) by June 5, if you plan to participate in this event.

June 22 (Friday): Bishop Samuel Aquila will celebrate Mass at 12:10 p.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral, 604 Broadway, Fargo. This Mass marks the beginning of the Fortnight for Freedom requested by the U.S. Bishops. All are invited to attend this special Mass.

June 23 (Saturday): Ordination Mass for Priests to be celebrated by Bishop Samuel Aquila at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fargo. The faithful are invited to attend this special liturgy.

June 23 (Saturday): Sacred Heart, 304 3rd Ave., Cando, is hosting a Women's Retreat from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The theme of the retreat is "The Crippled Women." At 3:30 p.m., Sister Anne Germaine Picard, SMP, will give a presentation and show slides on her work in Cameroon, Africa. A light lunch will be served at noon and Mass will follow at 5 p.m. There is no charge to attend, however, a free-will offering will be accepted. The event is open to the public. June 24-26 (Sunday-Tuesday): Holy Cross Catholic Church, West Fargo, is sponsoring a Prairie Pilgrimage to Minnesota. They’ll be visiting religious sites at Two Inlets, Onamia, Coon Rapids, St. Paul, Minneapolis, St. Joseph, St. Cloud, St. John's University/St Benedict's and St. John's in Wahpeton. Cost is $250 for double occupancy and includes all meals, hotels, transportation, refreshments and fun. Deadline to register is June 1. Space is limited, so please reserve soon. Contact Bill or Geri Harbeke at (701) 277-9681 to register or for more information.

July 8-13 (Sunday-Friday): MI Youth Camp will take place at the Franciscan Sisters of Dillingen Convent in Hankinson. Cost is $210/person. Registration deadline is June 4. July 29 (Sunday): Holy Family-St. Mary’s Catholic School will celebrate 50 years of Catholic elementary education. The "50 Years of Golden Opportunities" celebration will begin with Mass at 11 a.m., followed by a school carnival, commemorative program and dinner. All events will be at Holy Family Church, 1018 18th Ave. S., Grand Forks. Please notify the school office by phone, (701) 775-9886, or email hfsm@wiktel.com.

August 2012

Aug. 3-5 (Friday-Sunday): Maryvale Spiritual Life Center, Valley City, will host a Mother-Daughter retreat. The retreat is devoted to bringing mothers and daughters together through mutual experiences of prayer and sharing. Mass, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and scriptural prayer will be part of these days together. There will be conferences on spiritual topics. Leisure and recreational activities will also be enjoyed. The retreat begins at 7 p.m. on Friday and ends at 12 p.m. on Sunday. Daughters must be 12 years and older. Aug. 12 (Sunday): Join in a pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Prairies at the Carmel of Mary Monastery in Wahpeton.

Aug. 20 (Monday): Bishop Aquila invites you to Putt 4 a Purpose. Event will be held at Maple River Golf Club in Mapleton. September 2012
