Rites and Resources for RCIA

The 1988 edition is the most recent edition approved by the USCCB for mandatory use in the RCIA process. All RCIA sessions need to use this approved RCIA Rites book to properly prepare people for the sacraments of initiation and Catholic way of life.  Coordinators are to teach to and from the Rites.

In Baptism, we become children of God and receive the Holy Spirit. A clear distinction is made for those people who have received the sacrament of Baptism, versus those who are seeking the sacrament of Baptism. For this reason, the process of initiation is slightly different between these two groups.
