Sept. 11 (Saturday): Church Leadership Workshop at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 209 First St. S.E., LaMoure. Registration is from 8-8:25 a.m. Workshop starts at 8:30 a.m. and ends at Noon. Sept. 13 (Monday): Beginning Experience, a non-denominational support group for separated, divorced and widowed persons, will be offering Level 1 beginning Monday, Sept. 13, at Liberty Lutheran Brethren Church, 1702 32nd Ave. S., Fargo. Level 3 will be offered beginning Thursday, Sept. 16, at First Baptist Church, 1501 17th Ave. S., Fargo. Registration for levels 1 and 3 is at 6:30 p.m. with sessions beginning at 7 p.m. Levels 1 and 3 are ten weeks in length, with newcomers welcome at Level 1 all ten weeks, and at Level 3 the first three weeks. Sept. 21 (Tuesday): Presentation Prayer Center will offer an orientation to Extended Ignatian Retreat for all interested men and women of all denominations at 7 p.m. at Presentation Gathering Place, 3001 11th St. S., Fargo. The retreat will run September to early May. Participants will follow the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius. Each participant will meet weekly with a director at a time convenient to both of them. The retreat consists of praying an assigned scripture passage for 45 to 60 minutes each day for thirty weeks. Sept. 22 – Oct. 31: The 40 Days for Life national campaign is a three-fold effort of prayer – fasting – vigilance that is being conducted in cities across our nation. Parishes can take part in the 40 Days for Life event by forming pilgrimages to come and pray in Fargo. Each parish is encouraged to take at least one hour of prayer at the abortion facility, 512 First Avenue North, Fargo, during the fall campaign. Sept. 26 (Sunday): Join us for the annual diocesan Eucharistic procession Walk with Christ for Life. The event begins with Holy Mass at 3:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Mary, 604 Broadway, Fargo. A Eucharistic procession will follow to the state’s only abortion facility and conclude with Benediction at the Cathedral. A lunch sponsored by the Knights of Columbus will follow in the church social hall. This is a peaceful and prayerful public witness of our commitment to the sanctity of human life. Oct. 1-3 (Friday-Monday): The Marian Eucharistic Congress will be at the Fargo Civic Memorial Auditorium, 207 Fourth Street N, Fargo, opening with a 12:15 p.m. Eucharistic procession Friday afternoon into the auditorium. It ends Sunday afternoon with the closing Episcopal Mass. The three-day event, held every other year in the Diocese of Fargo, traditionally draws together hundreds of people who are yearning to learn about and grow in their Catholic faith. Oct. 9 (Saturday): Fargo Showing of the movie BloodMoney, a documentary film that exposes the truth behind the abortion industry from the Pro-Life perspective. Interested in learning more about your Catholic heritage? Join Father John Aerts and Father Terry Dodge on a Catholic Pilgrimage to Portugal, Spain and France. This pilgrimage is a 12-day Marian adventure that leaves Minneapolis on Oct. 11 and returns on Oct. 22. The cost for this pilgrimage is $3,495 per person based on double occupancy. The pilgrimage includes: air transportation, land transportation by deluxe air-conditioned motor coach with professional driver, services of an expert tour director, superior tourist-class lodging, breakfast and dinner daily, all taxes, fuel surcharges, gratuities and other services. Unlike a material will, this will states what it is that you find most important in your life, your values, your cherished memories and faith, your hopes for the future. Through questions, reflection time, and writing, begin or continue to gift your family and friends and/or your business, with your insights, learnings and aspirations. In addition to participating in the March and the Vigil Mass for Life at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, youth will also travel to Emmitsburg, Md., to visit the Mother Seton Shrine, and see the sights of Washington, D.C. The cost for the 6-day pilgrimage is $825 and includes air and ground travel, lodging, meals and tour fees. Registration deadline is Oct. 18. Nov. 6 ( Saturday): “Married Love and Babies; Women and the Pill” seminar will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Cardinal Muench Seminary, 100 35th Avenue N.E., Fargo. Sessions will feature Dr. Mary Martin, an ob/gyn practicing in Oklahoma City who specializes in the Billings Ovulation Method of Natural Family Planning. She will address how medicine can assist couples in conceiving a child in a way that is morally acceptable. She will also speak on alternative treatments to using “the Pill” to treat common women’s health conditions. Father Dale Kinzler, diocesan Health Care Liaison, will offer a presentation on the Catholic Church’s teaching about Artificial Reproductive Technology, and a panel of local couples will share their experiences with infertility.
