Programs to support Married Life

FOCCUS - FOCCUS is an acronym meaning Facilitating Open Couple Communication Understanding and Study. It is an internationally used inventory for marriage preparation. The tool is a self-diagnostic instrument designed to help couples learn more about themselves and their unique relationship. To learn more about the FOCCUS Inventory, contact Jennie Korsmo at the number below or visit the FOCCUS website at www.foccusinc.com.   

Prepare/Enrich The PREPARE/ENRICH Program is used for premarital counseling, marriage preparation, marriage counseling and marriage enrichment. PREPARE/ENRICH includes a comprehensive couple assessment along with feedback using skills building exercises. To learn more about the Prepare/Enrich, please visit the Prepare/Enrich website.

Natural Family Planning - the Diocese of Fargo has implemented a policy on the Instruction of Natural Family Planning for Couples Preparing for Marriage. The intent is to help couples prepare for marriage in the Catholic teachings of love and life.

What have you done for your marriage today? is a new website sponsored by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Catholic Communications Campaign. This website provides information, skills, inspiration, and resources to help couples who are married or who are thinking about getting married.  Click here to check out the site.

SPONSORING COUPLE TRAINING

Sponsoring Couple training is for couples who assist priests in preparing couples for the sacrament of marriage. The training is grounded in the FOCCUS pre-marriage inventory with follow-up visits between the sponsor couple and the those preparing for marriage.
 

To become a sponsor couple:

Feb. 13 (Monday): PREPARE/ENRICH workshop to be held at the Pastoral Center, 5201 Bishops Blvd., Fargo, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration forms can be found here.
