Volunteers - St. Ann's Native American School, Belcourt, ND
www.fargodiocese.org/parish/ann1

St. Ann's Native American School is in need of VOLUNTEERS. We need classroom teachers for grades K - 6, and teachers specializing in PE, computer science, music and art. We are also in need of volunteers with experience in cooking for large groups, nutrition, grant writing, fund raising, accounting, business management, youth ministry, and school administration. We need teachers' aides and those with individual tutoring experience. And, since our facility was constructed in 1935, we need folks with skills in carpentry, plumbing, electricity, and general maintenance. The school, which serves students who are members of the Ojibwa (Chippewa) Nation, reopened 5 years ago as a K-3 school, after being closed for almost 30 years. We have added a new grade each year. Our classes are limited to 15 students per grade. Qualified volunteers from all over the world staff the school. Our volunteers live in community. Room and board is provided. Our ministry is both to our students and to the community. Service here is a full-time effort and then some.

St. Ann's is a Catholic community dedicated to serving the people of the Turtle Mountain Reservation located in the beautiful hills of North Dakota. We are situated near the Canadian border, just slightly east of the center of the state. St. Ann's consists of a 70-acre facility that sits atop a hill overlooking the town of Belcourt. Father's Lake is on the property and is used for summer youth camp activities and canoeing. The weather here can be very cold in the winter, so proper clothing is a necessity. Come planning to sled, snowshoe and cross-country ski. Thankfully, because all volunteers live and work on campus, there is no commute. Classrooms are an easy walk from the volunteer housing.

Our community is made up of lay volunteers, priests, brothers and sisters. The priests, brothers and sisters are members of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity. There are 2 daily Masses, morning prayer, evening prayer, and an adoration chapel available for all.

For more information or a volunteer application, please contact Ms. Angie Zaccardelli at annschl@utma.com or call 1-701-477-2667.
